One easy way to do this is to focus on making kindness into a habit. Expressing gratitude can be a useful and powerful tool in maintain a healthy and loving relationship
Consider looking for at least three things that you value and/or feel grateful about your partner every day, and find a way to express this appreciation. If you find yourself uncomfortable with expressing gratitude for your partner’s qualities verbally, be willing to make the commitment to minimally sending him or her an email or text message to communicate your positive feelings.
Set the intention to do this exercise without the expectation that your partner will reciprocate. Taking the time to express appreciation for your partner should be something that is done without expectation that your partner will return the favor. Tara has found in her practice that even if the partner doesn’t reciprocate in the beginning the relationship can continue to evolve in a positive way.
